Where “In Memory Of…”
came from
In August 2004, I lost someone very dear to me. My older brother Kendall and his close friend Levi were tragically lost in an automobile accident. At that time I didn’t think I would be able to deal with the grief and pain I was feeling. A short time after the funerals, an idea came to me to create quilts for these two boys’ mothers who were understandably having a more difficult time with the losses. I sat down one evening and created the quilts for both mothers, and just the act of creating these helped me through this difficult time. After completing them and seeing how much joy my quilts brought to these women, I decided that there is the possibility to help many others with these lovingly built creations. So, “In Memory Of” was born.
